Hostage situation reported near University of Alabama campus
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) – Police say a person was arrested after a hostage state of affairs close to the College of Alabama, and all of the hostages are reported unhurt.
Lt. Teena Richardson, a Tuscaloosa police spokeswoman, stated the incident Tuesday morning ended peacefully and stated “The hostages are high-quality.” She stated there have been about eight hostages. She stated the person had a gun.
It occurred at an Alabama Credit score Union department throughout the road from the UA regulation faculty.
Tuscaloosa Police Chief Steve Anderson stated officers initially responded to a financial institution theft in progress. He contradicted an earlier assertion from a police spokeswoman that a theft hadn’t been reported.
Most college students return to class Wednesday, however many already have been on campus.
Officers closed the world, and video and pictures confirmed police in army-fashion automobiles and tactical gear.
