Man accused of drunken driving after crashing into car stopped at red light

WALL TOWNSHIP — A 24-yr-previous township man is accused of assault by auto, drunken driving and different drug fees after he allegedly rear-ended a automotive stopped at a pink mild on Sunday afternoon.

Township police say Vincent Petrucelli was driving a 2015 GMC Yukon round 2:forty p.m. on Route 34 south when he drifted into the left flip lane and hit a Mercedes Benz that was stopped at a purple mild.

The driving force of the Mercedes, a 26-yr-previous Manasquan resident, was taken to Jersey Shore College Medical Middle in Neptune the place he was handled for an damage that was not life-threatening, Wall police Detective Lieutenant Greg Carpino stated in a press release.

Petrucelli was charged with driving whereas intoxicated, aggravated assault by vehicle, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute and being beneath the affect of a managed harmful substance.

He was launched after he was issued a grievance summons pending a future courtroom date.

The left flip lane of Route 34 south on the intersection with Route 35 north was closed for about one hour as police investigated the crash.
