PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – A well being official for Ohio’s most populous county has been picked to steer Rhode Island’s youngster welfare system.
Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo introduced Tuesday her selection of Trista Piccola as director of the state Division of Youngsters, Youth and Households. The Democratic governor submitted Piccola’s identify to the state Senate for recommendation and consent.
Piccola works in Cleveland as deputy director of efficiency analysis and innovation for Cuyahoga County’s well being and human providers company. She has a doctorate in social welfare and commenced her profession as a protecting providers case supervisor.
Piccola will succeed Jamia McDonald, who introduced in September she was stepping down. McDonald has been in search of an advisory opinion from the state Ethics Fee on whether or not she will take a job with Deloitte Consulting, a state contractor.
