FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Volkswagen says it’s in “superior talks” with United States authorities over a proposed settlement that incorporates $four.three billion in felony and civil fines over its diesel emissions scandal.
The draft settlement would require the corporate to strengthen compliance efforts, together with the appointment of an unbiased monitor.
An organization assertion stated Tuesday that underneath the proposal Volkswagen would comply with “a responsible plea” to felony regulation provisions.
The draft must be authorised by Volkswagen’s board and U.S. courts.
