Omawumi was born on the 13th of April, 1982, in Delta State to the family of Chief Dr. Frank and Mrs. Aya Megbele<\/strong>. She hails from Delta State, which falls in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria. She attended Nana Primary School<\/strong> for her primary school education. Omowumi had her secondary school at the College of Education Demonstration Secondary School<\/strong>. She went further to Ambrose Alli University<\/strong>, where she graduated with a degree in Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After Owowumi graduated from Ambrose Alli University, she started working for a law firm, O.S. Megbele & Associates<\/strong>. Omawumi became well-known after competing in Idols West Africa<\/strong>. At the conclusion of the contest in May 2007, Omawumi was chosen as the first runner-up. She has since shared the stage with several artists, including P-Square<\/strong>, 2face Idibia<\/a>, Phyno<\/a>, D’Banj<\/a>, Banky W<\/a>, M.I.<\/a>, Sasha<\/a>, 9ice<\/a>, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Carl Thomas, Angie Stone<\/strong>, Donell Jones<\/strong>, and Angelique Kidjo<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Omawumi released her first song, “In The Music<\/strong>,” in September 2008. On November 11, 2009, she released her album Wonderwoman<\/strong>. On April 10, 2013, the album The Lasso of Truth<\/strong> was unveiled. In 2019, she released her fourth album, In Her Feelings<\/strong>, which includes Afrofusion, jazz, and R&B. Among the songs on the album are For My Baby<\/strong>, Mr. Sinnerman<\/strong>, Away<\/strong>, True Loving, Tabansi<\/strong>, and Green Grass<\/strong>. The 22nd of May 2020 saw the release of her single, “Lituation<\/strong>.” Her fourth studio album, Love Deep High Life (LDHL)<\/strong>, which features contributions from Phyno<\/a>, Waje<\/a>, Brymo<\/strong>, and Ric Hassani<\/strong>, was released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Omawumi has always included dramatic and visual demonstration aspects in her music videos, which has made her deserving of being a thespian and the movie roles that have come her way even before she made her official debut in the realm of make-believe. She made her debut by appearing on stage in the 2009 V-Monologues<\/strong>, a literary work intended to illustrate the challenges and plight of women in Nigeria. She got a role in the Yoruba musical and folktale, Olurumbi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Omowumi went further to take a role in the award-winning movie titled ‘Inale’<\/strong>. She, alongside popular singer Ice Prince<\/a>, acted in the Ghanian film titled “House of Gold”<\/strong>. She jumped into movie production in 2019 when she teamed up with Waje<\/a> to work on a film project as co-producers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n The film “She Is<\/strong>,” which was directed by Eneng Enaji<\/strong>, is a continuation of her humanitarian efforts and a representation of the principles she has always championed and expressed in her artistic creations. The film “She Is<\/strong>” explores the expectations, standards, and limitations of Nigerian society for successful women. The movie is a presentational work of art that depicts society as it is while posing issues and exploring answers. She co-produced the film with her co-star.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Omowumi is happily married and has two adorable kids. Tosin Ibrahim Yusuf<\/strong>, the founder of the real estate firm Lloyd Gate Limited<\/strong> and a former co-owner of the Zamunda nightclub and bar <\/strong>in Ikoyi, Lagos State, is the husband of Omawumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Omowumi served as a brand ambassador for many international brands, some of which are Globacom<\/strong>, Konga<\/strong>, Malta Guinness<\/strong>, and so on. She also worked as a part of the campaign called Rise with the Energy of Africa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Omowumi has signed many endorsement deals with different multimillionaire international brands so far. According to different sources online, she has an estimated net worth of $3 million<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Omowumi is very active on social media platforms.
