Chimoroke Nnamani (<\/strong>May 30th, 1960) is a medical doctor<\/strong> and politician from Enugu State, Nigeria. He served as Enugu State’s governor<\/strong> from 1999 until 2007 after winning the 1999 gubernatorial election. After that, he represented the Enugu East Senatorial District for the People’s Democratic Party <\/strong>(PDP<\/strong>) from 2007 to 2011 and was re-elected in 2019. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Chimoroke Nnamani<\/strong> was born on May 30th, 1960, in Port Harcourt<\/a>, and he hails from Agbani <\/strong>and Kanu West Local Government Areas of Enugu State<\/a><\/strong>. He attended both the College of the Immaculate Conception<\/strong> (CIC<\/strong>) and the Methodist Primary School<\/strong> in Enugu. He received his education at the University of Nigeria’s College of Medicine <\/strong>(Enugu Campus<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n He furthered his post-graduate studies at the State University of New York <\/strong>and the Inter-faith Medical Center\/Down State Medical Centre, Brooklyn, New York, where he studied Obstetrics and Gynaecology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Also, his postgraduate education and research continued at the Perinatal Biology Centre, Loma Linda University<\/strong>, Loma Linda, Southern California; the Molecular Biology and Tissue Cytology Laboratory, Jerry “L” Pettis Veterans Administration Hospital, Loma Linda, California; the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Perinatal Biology, College of Medicine, Loma Linda University (with specialisation in maternal-fetal medicine); and the College of Medicine, University of South Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gap junction physiology, tissue cytology, molecular biology, and foetal biology Connexin protein regulates cell-to-cell communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n High-risk pregnancy, preterm labour, obstetric ultrasonography, prenatal diagnostics, and genetics. He has published studies and presented abstracts at significant scientific conferences and journals (Nnamani et al., 1994, Biology of Reproduction, 50, 377\u2013389).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda, California, 92354; Molecular Cytology Laboratory, Veterans Administration Medical Center, Loma Linda, California; Departments of Gynecology\/Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Anatomy, Physiology, and Pharmacology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr. Nnamani worked as an attending physician in the following American hospitals before switching to politics and public service back home in Nigeria: Loma Linda University Medical Centre, San Bernardino County Medical Centre, Riverside General Hospital, Florida Hospital, Orlando, Florida, and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women and Children, Orlando, Florida. And he worked for the Maternal and Foetal Medicine Associates, Principal Practising Group, in Orlando, Florida, as a specialist in maternal and foetal medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition to the Society for Perinatal Obstetricians<\/strong>, the American Society for Cell Biology, the Society for Gynecologic Investigations<\/strong>, the American Institute for Ultrasound in Medicine<\/strong>, and licensure in California, New York, West Virginia, Virginia, Florida, and the District of Columbia, he was a member of numerous professional organisations.
