Oladips was born on March 24, 1995, in Ogun State, southwestern part of Nigeria. He grew up in a musical family, as his father was a gospel singer. He developed a passion for music at a young age and started writing his own songs. Oladips completed his primary and secondary education in Ogun State, before relocating to Lagos State to pursue his music career. He began by recording and releasing freestyles online, which attracted the attention of music fans and critics.

Oladips made his debut in 2012 with a cover of Drake and Trey Songz’s “Successful”. He gained recognition in 2015 after winning D’banj’s “King is Here” competition, which featured over 8,000 contestants. He impressed the judges with his rap skills and lyrical prowess. Oladips was awarded a record deal with Edge Records, a label owned by Reminisce, a popular Nigerian rapper. He released his first official single under the label, titled “Bounce”, featuring Reminisce, in 2016. He also released his debut album, Dreams and Realities, in the same year. The album featured collaborations with Phyno, Lil Kesh, and Reminisce, and received positive reviews from critics and fans.
