Early Life and Education
Joel Ogebe was born on March 16, 1993, in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, to Pastor Matthew and Mrs. Mary Ogebe. Both of his parents are church ministers, and this greatly influenced his love for God and ministry.Afterwards, he went on to the College of Education, Oju, where he studied Biology and
Geography.
He grew up in Northern Nigeria and began his education at Holy Ghost Primary School, Makurdi. He later attended the Assemblies of God Comprehensive College, also in Makurdi, for his secondary school.
Ministry
Joel Ogebe began preaching and serving in church from a very young age. At 13 years old,
he was already active in ministry. His passion for sharing God’s word continued to grow
over the years.
He officially started ministry in Makurdi, where he served with the Burden Bearers
Fellowship under the Truth and Life Gospel Church. At 24, he founded his first ministry, Fire City International, in Makurdi. Later, he moved to Abuja, where he started Love Family International, which eventually became House of Salem International, the ministry he now leads.
On April 13, 2022, Apostle Arome Osayi officially inaugurated House of Salem International. Today, the church has branches in Lagos, Abuja, Calabar, and even in the United Kingdom.
Music and Worship
Apart from preaching, Joel Ogebe is also a passionate gospel singer and songwriter. He
leads a music group called Sound of Salem. Through this group, he has released songs that
inspire prayer, revival, and faith. He dropped his first single, “Alive in Me,” in 2022. In 2024, his song “We Will Be Many” featuring Lawrence Oyor and Moses Akoh became a huge success, gathering over 15
million plays on Spotify and more than 7 million views on YouTube by October 2025. Some of his other songs include “Sparrow,” “Emmanuel,” “I Am Hungry for Revival”, “Promise Keeper,” “Imole,” and “Connect.”
His first full album, “Dominion,” was released in 2025, further showing his heart for worship
and spreading God’s message through music.
The Kingdom Coin
In 2023, Joel Ogebe launched a new project called The Kingdom Coin (TKC) — a cryptocurrency created to support church work and humanitarian activities. It is one of the first faith-based digital coins in Africa, showing his interest in using technology for God’s work.
Awards and Recognition
Joel Ogebe’s music has been recognized across Africa. In 2024, his song “We Will Be Many” won Africa Song of the Year at the CLIMA Africa Awards. He was also nominated for the Kingdom Achievers Award for his impact in gospel music and ministry.
Personal Life
Joel Ogebe is married to Deborah Joel Adole. The couple got married on August 19, 2023,
and they live together in Lagos, Nigeria, where they continue to serve in ministry and music.
