Early Life and Education
Bimbo Oshin was born on July 24, 1971, in the city of Ondo State, Nigeria. Bimbo Oshin was raised in Ondo State, where she attended Saint Anne’s Primary School, Oke Agunla, Ondo State, for her elementary schooling. Later, she attended Staff Primary School in Osun State, Ile-Ife. She went to Girls Academy, Sandgrouse, Lagos Island, Lagos State for her secondary schooling and also obtained her SSCE there. The University of Lagos became Bimbo Oshin’s next academic adventure for higher education, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Philosophy.
Career
Bimbo Oshin had a passion for acting at a young age. She and her older sibling had been acting out some little drama at home, during which they recorded their fictitious films. However, she began her acting career in its early stages while an undergraduate at the University of Lagos. She was introduced to the Ara Osan Group by the sister of one of her friends. She informed her that she had joined and encouraged her to do the same. Bimbo concurred, joined the crew (Ara Osan), and began attending practices in 1996.
She worked for her boss, Rasaq Ajao, who is the owner of the Ara Osan Theatre Organisation, for four years. Although she began her film career with English soap operas, she is currently having success in the Yoruba film business. Her first film, “Akobi,” which came out in 1997, is credited with making her popular. The distinguished performer also appeared in “Oh Father! Oh Daughter!” from Wale Adenuga’s Super Story TV series in 2001 alongside Sola Sobowale, Bukky Wright, Antar Laniyan, and many more well-known actors.
A Yoruba film titled Eji Owuro was produced by Bimbo Oshin two years later. In addition, she appeared in the 2012 Yoruba film Omo Elemosho with Fausat Balogun, Lanre Hassan, Toyin Abraham, and other well-known actors. Bimbo Oshin also worked on a popular 2020 film “Kakanfo.”
Personal Life
Bimbo Oshin is married to Lagos-based promoter Ola Ibironke (Dudu Heritage). She married him in 2003, and the couple is blessed with two kids. On September 13, 2021, she lost him to the cold hands of death.
Bimbo also has a fashion business, “Dashing by Bimbo Oshin,” where she swells Senegalese wears.
