Born in Umuduru, Ekwe, Isu Local Government Area of Imo State—a state in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria—Chief Imo was raised by his mother and elderly sister.
For his education, Longinus Anuyaehiechukwu Anokwute attended Ekwe Secondary School, Imo State and Army School, Gombe State for his primary and secondary school education respectively.
