Daniel Craig was born on March 2, 1968, in Chester, Cheshire, England. His mother, Carol Olivia, was an art teacher, and his father, Timothy John Wroughton Craig, was a merchant seaman who later became a steel erector and also ran a pub. Craig’s parents divorced when he was two years old, and he moved to Liverpool with his mother and sister.
Craig attended West Kirby Grammar School and Calday Grange Grammar School, but he left school at 16 to pursue acting. He trained at the National Youth Theatre and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
