Early Life and Education
Ireti Osayemi was born on January 14, 1982, in Liberia. She and her parents returned back to Nigeria during the Liberian civil war. She was raised in Lagos State and completed her education there. Ireti continued her education at the Lagos-based Ajumoni Secondary School where she received her West African Leaving Certificate after completing her primary school education.
Later, she went to Lagos State University in Ojo, Lagos, where she majored in economics and graduated with a bachelor’s degree.
Career
In 1999, Ireti Osayemi began acting in Nollywood movies after entering the Nigerian film business. She appeared in a film by Emeka Duru which marked her Nollywood debut, and a role in a film by Laide Bakare together with the likes of Funke Akindele, Eniola Badmus, and Odunlade Adekola, primarily marked her appearance in the Yoruba films.
She made her acting debut in the film “CASSANOVA,” and since then, she has remained well-known in the business. She has appeared in over 100 Nollywood films, including Onfa Ife, Tomo Tiya, Squad Twenty-threw, and The Return of Jenifa.
Personal Life
Ireti Osayemi is married to Nollywood film producer Bakare ‘Bakky’ Adeoye in 2008, and the couple is now parents to two kids. Before they were married, she gave birth to her first child in 2007, and they welcomed their second child in 2009.
There has recently been talking that she and her spouse are divorcing. The great actress refuted it, claiming that only rumour mongers could have created something like that.
