Joke Silva Early Life
Joke Silva was born in the early 60’s to the beautiful family of Mr. Silva and Mrs. Adebimbola; a family of four in Lagos state, Nigeria.
Precisely, Joke was born on 29th September, 1961. Her late mother was a renowned Doctor. Her late father, a reputable lawyer.
Joke schooled in Holy Child College, Lagos before eventually moving abroad for her A level studies.
Shortly, she returned to Nigeria for her university education. Of course, Joke completed her A level studies abroad before returning for her university education.
She studied and bagged a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Lagos (UniLag) Culture Center; now, the department of Creative Arts.
While she studied, the Culture Centre was well-known for play and drama performances. It was in one of her performances that someone noticed and invited Joke to come and work with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
Then, Joke started doing radio production as she is now working with the NTA. Notably, she was invited to work at the National National Theatre.
Career
Joke Silva joined the Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood in the early 90’s.
