Early Life and Education

Julius Owino, also known as Juliani, was born in 1985. He is the third child in a family of six and grew up in Dandora, an eastern suburb in Nairobi, Kenya. His father is an architect, while his mother is a businesswoman.

Juliani went to Wangu Primary School before proceeding to Dandora Secondary School, Nairobi Area, Kenya.

Career

Juliani was born into a Christian home and one of his friends, called Brayo, had accepted Jesus earlier and encouraged him to be saved.

Brayo introduced him to Lighthouse Church in Nairobi, he became born again in 2005 and began to become stronger in the spiritual realm day by day.

Juliani began his musical career in August 2006 with Kijiji Records, whose name was derived from music pioneer Kanji, during the time of Milele. He had the privilege to feature KORA chosen one, Astar, and they both went on to perform in various secondary schools and tertiary institutions.

In 2008, he collaborated with other best craftsmen to record “Wakenya Pamoja”, and it was a success for them. Juliani was the first ever Kenyan musician to be signed to an indisputable UK-based record label, Gatwitch Records, in 2008.

Juliani also collaborated with a semblance of KORA champ Eric Wainaina, Afro-combination sensation Kanjii, Kisima Nominees Holy Dave, and Wenyeji.

He also supported, for instance, Vina Na Maana—a fight against Economic Partnership Agreements, Stand Up Against Poverty—the UN Millennium Campaign for MDG, and the World Vision Peace Tour around Kenyan urban communities and towns.

Juliani has released several songs in his career and has been featured in many popular gospel singles; some of his songs include Sai Da Minha Cola, Kitanda Yangu Four By Six, Ta Rolando Um Clima, and others.

Personal Life

Juliani got married to Lilian Ng’ang’a. He was previously in a relationship with Brenda Wairimu but they got divorced, leaving a beautiful daughter named Amor.
