Ngozi Ezeonu was born Ngozi Ikpelelue to the family of Mr. and Mrs. D.O. Ikpelelue. She is a native of Ogunike; a town in the Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. Anambra State is, of course, a state in the Southeastern part of Nigeria.

Growing up, she had a dream of becoming a journalist. Obviously, this dream was fulfilled but didn’t last long enough, and I will tell you why. She at first worked as a salesperson in a salon. There, she served as a hairstylist before furthering her education.

Career

Later, she got admitted into the prestigious Nigeria Institute of Journalism. There, she obtained a Diploma Degree in Journalism and worked as a journalist. She worked for Eko FM and Radio Lagos before finally pursuing a career in acting.

Being a go-getter, she was introduced into Nollywood in 1993 by Zeb Ejiro. Mr. Ejiro gave her the first platform to stare in her first movie “Nneka the Pretty Serpent.”

In fact, Ngozi was so vocal and very clever at playing her character. Her expertise in “Nneka the Pretty Serpent” landed her another role, and then another role, the list continued.
