Bayegun Oluwatoyin Adesanya Abimbola popularly known as Woli Arole is a Nigerian comedian, actor and also a Master of ceremony (MC). Woli Arole is one of the top Nigerian comedian with a distinctive style of comedy delivery, He rose to fame on Instagram after posting videos of himself preaching the gospel in comical ways reminiscent of local prophets.

Early Life & Education

Woli Arole was born on February 22nd, 1990, in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He originally hails from ikare Akoko in Ondo state. He’s from a family of 3, 2 boys and 1 girl.

He had his primary education in Olopade Agoro Apata, Ibadan, and he attended Government College, Ibadan for his secondary education.

Career

Woli Arole started from the church. He joined the drama group of every church he has been to.

Woli Arole started Comedy from Obafemi Awolowo University when he was in 100 Level, which was 2008/2009 as an undergraduate and was one of the top acts during his time in the institution. After graduating from the university he went on to further his career as a comedian and has since risen in the industry.

His breakthrough though came in the year 2016 after he had won the second edition of Alibaba’s Spontaneity Competition. He followed that up with a viral video which he attacked UNILORIN students. The students of the institution also replied and since then Woli Arole continued to make short comedy skits online.

He embraced social media and gained attention with short videos on Instagram. He auditioned and became a finalist at the Alibaba Spontaneity contest in Lagos.

As an actor, in 2018 Woli Arole got his first role in the movie “The Call” which stars the likes of Yinka Quadri, Hafeez Oyetoro ‘Saka’, Segun Arinze, Ebiye, Etinosa Idemudia. He has also starred in other movies such as Alakada Reloaded and Gold Statue.
