Early Life
Yemi Eberechi Alade popularly known as Yemi Alade was born 13 March 1989, is a Nigerian Afropop singer and songwriter. She was in Abia state but a native of Ondo state, her father James Alade was a commissioner of police Yoruba descent while her mother is of Igbo descent. Yemi is the fifth of the seven children in her family.
Education
She attended St. Saviour British Primary School and Victory Grammar School for her secondary in Lagos. She later further to the University of Lagos where she studied Geography.

Musical Career
Yemi Alade started as a member of the girl known group Noty Spices and later won the Peak Talent Show in 2009.
In 2012, Effyzzie Music Group signed Yemi Alade, and released her single titled “Ghen Ghen Love” and later released another “Bamboo” produced by Fliptyce and became a wedding song. She released another one “Johnny” produced by Selebobo, the song became hits and trend all over Africa and some part of America and Europe. The video had over 100 million views on YouTube.
Yemi Alade debut studio album King of Queens was released on October 2, 2014, collaborated with producers such as Selebobo, Sizzle Pro, Shady Bizniz, Philkeyz, Young D, GospelOnDeBeatz, DIL, OJB Jezreel, Mr Chidoo, Fliptyce, EL Mcee and Beat Nation. She promoted the album by touring several Africa countries.
Her second studio album Mama Africa was released on March 25, 2016. Yemi said it would focus on the strengths and weaknesses of an African woman. The album combines elements of Afropop, highlife, R&B, coupé-décalé, hip-hop and pop. She collaborated with artists from West Africa, East Africa and South Africa and produced by GospelOnDeBeatz, DJ Coublon, Selebobo, Philkeyz, BeatsByEmzo, Masterkraft, Rotimi Keys and Mr. Chidoo. Collaborated artist are P-Square, Sarkodie, Sauti Sol, Flavour N’abania, Rotimi Keys, DJ Arafat and Selebobo.
Yemi’s third studio album Black Magic was released on December 15, 2017. Collaborated with Falz and Olamide produced by DJ Coublon, Vtek, Sarz, Krizbeatz, Young D, Sess, Fliptyce, IAmBeat, Philkeyz, 2Kriss and Echo. It was supported by the previously released singles “Knack Am”, “Single & Searching” and “Heart Robber”.
In July 2019, Alade became the first African female artist to reach one million subscribers on YouTube. Alade was featured on “Don’t Jealous Me”, a track from Beyoncé’s soundtrack album The Lion King: The Gift. She appeared on the track alongside Mr Eazi and Tekno.

In 2019, she released her fourth studio album, woman of steel featuring multiple award winner Angélique Kidjo, American rapper Rick Ross and Yoruba actress Funke Akindele.
Endorsement Deals
Yemi Alade signed a multi-year licensing deal with Universal Music Africa (UMA) and UMG France in September 2019. UMA will serve as the exclusive worldwide record partner for Yemi Alade while UMG France will serve as the international rollout partner for all of her releases under the label.
