Early Life & Education

Erica Nlewedim was born on March 13, 1994, to her parents, Eric Nlewedim Christian and Oby Nwokolo. She hails from Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria. She is an only child and was raised in Lagos by her mother.

She had her secondary school education at Victory Grammar School in Lagos and was later transferred to Command Secondary School in Ikeja.

Erica graduated from high school and gained admission into the university at Covenant University, one of the top Nigerian private universities in Ota, Ogun State, to pursue a degree in Business Administration.

In 2013, she graduated from university at the age of 19. Six years later, she flew to the United Kingdom to study Acting for Film at the Met Film School in London. She returned to Lagos and currently lives in Lagos.

Career

Erica started pursuing her modeling talent at a very young age, and in 2013, she was appointed as the brand ambassador for Natures Gentle Touch. This brand uses natural ingredients to care for scalp and hair.

Ngozi Erica has also worked with popular brands such as Jumia, MyZotoApp, and Glo.

She was also the brand face for Access Bank, Maltina, and Zaron Cosmetics from 2015 to 2017.

In 2014, Erica won the Miss Photogenic award after participating in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant. It helped her gain more popularity; she even featured an advert for Peak Milk TV.

Erica said she transitioned from modeling to Nollywood after participating in the 2014 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant.

“My dream role would be to be the main character in an action film. I have always loved female action stars like Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron and dreamed of acting like them. I’m currently training myself to be ready whenever that role presents itself.”

I admire her a lot because she gave me a role model for my skin color. We have very few black female action stars.”

Erica’s career as an actress is just a little over three years. Still, she has featured in several good Nollywood productions, including “Hire A Woman,” which is currently showing on Netflix.

Apart from acting and modeling, Erica is also an entrepreneur. She is the founder of Beluxia Hair.

Erica did a Marketing Manager for MEI Oil and Gas. But Erica did not last in the job.

She said:

“My mother wanted me to get a 9-5 job, and at some point, I did. When she saw how small the pay was, she allowed me to go back to my modeling and acting career.”
