Ibrahim Yekini Bakare popularly known as Itele d’icon is an award-winning and Nigerian actor, movie producer, and scriptwriter born on January 1, 1980, in Bariga, Lagos state. He hailed from Abeokuta, Ogun state and he has featured in many Yoruba movies.

Early Life & Education

Itele d’icon grew up in the northern region of Nigeria, specifically in Kano State, where he had is education.

He obtained his First Leaving School Certificate from the Zawaye primary school and his Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) from the Ahmadiyah Secondary School then he further to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta (MAPOLY).

Career

Itele D’Icon started his acting career in Iju Ishaga, Lagos State when he enrolled for an apprenticeship with the Folorunsho Adejobi theatre group in 1998.

In 2000, Itele d’icon featured in his first Nollywood movie titled: “Dapo Tori Ti E“, he featured as a criminal in the movie.

His first movie production was titled: “Itele”, got his nickname from the movie title.

His second production was “Ekun Meta” directed by Don Richard, he learned his directorial skill from him. The two have done a lot of productions together. This movie brought him to the limelight.

In 2019, he wrote, produced, and directed the Yoruba blockbuster “Return Of Kesari” alongside the renowned director Tope Adebayo.

He has worked with top notable actors across the country such as Odunlade Adekola, Femi Adebayo, Tunde Usman, Kelvin Ikeduba, and many others.

Personal life

Ibrahim Yekini Itele got engaged to his beautiful wife, Wunmi in June 2016 and their union is blessed with a child.
