Early Life 

JewelBaby was born into the beautiful family of Late Mr. Mike Okore and Mrs Okore Florence Kalu in the early 2000’s. Precisely, he was born on 6th May, 2001 in Aba, Abia State. Abia State is a state in the South Eastern part of Nigeria.

Born into the family of five, JewelBaby has four sisters. Obviously, his parents had four daughters and a son.

Being very talented and passionate about his craft; Nnamdi is a creative and goal-oriented young man as it were.

Growing up, Nnamdi was opportuned to live in many parts of the country. He had, in fact, stayed in places like, Anambra, Delta state,Portharcourt and Ikorodu, Lagos state.

Career

JewelBaby started a career in the entertainment industry in 2014. Plainly, he started singing unofficially at the early age of 13, something that could be linked to his passion for music; his craft.

Kalu Nnamdi joined a band group in his church. This, of course, has helped in many places. Building and nurturing one’s skill and/or talent has never been so easy. It requires a whole lot and JewelBaby is determined to break all odds through consistency and commitment.

Kalu Nnamdi who was officially known as ILLNEZZ – ex stage name – started listening to great musicians and artists while much younger.

Herein, it won’t be less than a truth to say that Nnamdi understood the philosophy of attraction and success. I mean, “to write, you need to read.” “To produce a song, you need to enjoy but listen to music…”

JewelBaby enjoyed listening to Bob Marley, Onyeka Onwuenu, Fela Kuti, Lucky Dubey, Celin Deon, Lord Wadada, Michael Jackson, Raskimono, among other greatest of all time music producers.

Awards And Collaboration

Before now, JewelBaby collaborated and performed with Gabriel Nwachukwu – his ex partner popularly known as ZAAZA – 1NE as a Duo Artist.

Later, the Duo Artist, 1NE was nominated by Vee Vee Records’ BEST DUO ACT 2018 awards. Notably, the Duo Artist emerged the winner of the BEST DUO ACT awards at Vee Vee Records Awards (2018)
