Early Life and Education
Beebee Bassey was born on July 30, 1993, in Calabar, Cross Rivers State, Nigeria, where she also hails from. She was raised in a Christian home, where her parents served as pastors. Growing up in a faith-filled environment, Beebee discovered her love for music at a young age by singing in church. Her early exposure to gospel music played a major role in shaping her musical journey.
She completed her primary and secondary education in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. During her school years, Beebee struggled with dyslexia, which made traditional learning challenging. She is a graduate of Cross Rivers State University (CRUTECH) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication.
Career
Beebee started her music career in the early 2010s. In 2011, she came into the spotlight after finishing as the first runner-up in the Voice of Cross River competition. She gained more attention in 2014 when she made it to the top five on Nigerian Idol. In 2020, she won the Karaoke World Championship Nigeria and later represented the country at the world finals. Her music blends gospel, soul, R&B, jazz, and rock.
She’s known for her strong vocals and emotional songs that talk about faith, healing, and real-life issues.
