She had her primary education at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Primary school in her home town and her secondary education at Christ Apostolic Church Grammar School at Efon Alaye in Ekiti State before she proceeded to The Polytechnic, Ibadan where she obtained a diploma certificate in accounting but deferred the admission to focus on her singing ministry. She got married in 1977 to the late Pastor J.O Are and blessed with children. Her children are singers and musicians. She marked her 40 years on stage on October 5, 2013.
Her parents told her that she started singing a few days to her first birthday, so she describes herself as a born singer. Her parents knew she was going to be a singer because it had been prophesied before her birth that she would serve God. She also knew she would serve the Lord at a very young age and pursed it. The power of God was greatly upon her even from the early stage of her life.
She started singing at an early age. Her parents told her that she started singing a few day before her first birthday, therefore she considers herself a born singer. When she was eight years old, the singer and her friends sang and danced around the community, with the new clothes her parents bought them for the Easter celebration.
After she decided to follow her passion for ministry she started a music band called Bola and Her Spiritual Singers on June 26, 1973. In August 1977, she debuted her first musical album, Baba Ku Ise. As at 2014, Evangelist Bola Are had released over seventy albums.
