Early Life & Education
Iwara was born on August 30, 1990, to a professor of linguistics father, and a librarian mother in Ibadan, Oyo State. He is a native of Cross River State, a state in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria. He had his elementary education at UI Staff School in Ibadan and his secondary school at the International School. Efa earned a geography bachelor’s degree from the University of Ibadan.
Career
Efa Iwara began his career as a musician in the music industry in 2006 with the band X-Factor, which also included DJ Clem, Bolaji, Jide, and Boye. He released his debut song and a five-track EP called Waka EP in 2011 after the group split up. “Fall in Love,” his most recent official song, with Plantashun Boiz, was released in 2014.
In a 2011 episode of Tinsel, where he played a debate moderator, he made his acting debut. However, he was still engaged with music at this moment. His subsequent participation took place in MTV Shuga Naija’s inaugural season in 2013. He didn’t return to acting until 2016 when he made an appearance on Life 101 for Ebonylife TV.
He has since then made appearances in a number of TV shows, such as The Men’s Club, Ajoche, an original Africa Magic production, and Rumor Has It. Efa has also appeared in the films Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story, Seven, and Isoken. For his work in Seven, he received his first nomination for an Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA).
