Chinedu Izuchukwu Okoli popularly known as Flavour is a renowned Nigerian Highlife Afro musician, instrumentalist, songwriter, and philanthropist.
Also known as Flavour N’abania, Flavour of Africa and Ijele Africa, Chinedu is an embodiment of spoken wisdom.
Flavour N’abania was born in the early ’80s to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Okoli in Enugu State, Nigeria.
Born on 23rd November 1983, Chinedu is a native of Umunze, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State. Anambra State is a State in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria.
As the third child of his parents 12 children, growing up was fun; at least with the company of his siblings.
Um… not much is known about Chinedu’s educational background. We will, however, update this post as soon as there is an update about this.
Flavour started his music career while very young. Although it was not professional, he played the drums in the church.
Maybe he knew he was going to be a renowned musician someday hence he went to the church to play the drums even when nobody was there.
Later, his pastor noticed him and introduced him to his friend, owner of Soundcity Communications; his journey started here.
When he visited the company, Flavour became part of the band; something that helped his career.
Of course, it was demanded he informed his parents and so he did. Sadly, his parents were against his decision as they wanted him to further his education instead.
He left his parents house and moved in with the band members. While his stay lasted, he learned how to play instruments like piano, drum, guitar, etc.
The renowned Nigerian musician Flavour left the band; he worked with them for eleven years.
After his departure, he started playing for different brands. It wasn’t easy as it may seem but he scaled through.
Not long after, he started going to the studio to learn studio recording. In the studio, he met Nigga Raw and Dark an who played an important role in his career.
Notably, he started doing choruses for Nigga Raw; a renowned Nigerian musician, songwriter, and singer.
In 2008, Flavour released his album “N’abania,” N’abania was his first album with 8-track record. He released ‘Uplifted,’ which had hit singles like Adanma, Nwa Baby, and Oyi.
As it were, Flavour has been able to make a name for himself so that his name is almost a household name.
