Early Life and Education
On October 24, 1973, Kunle Iyiola Afod was born in Lagos. He is the youngest member of a family of four. He is an Ibadan, Oyo State native. He began his studies in Festac, Lagos, and completed them in Owo, Ondo state. After completing his elementary schooling, he relocated to Jos to attend the Command Day Secondary School, where he obtained his O’level certificate. He grew up listening to Fuji stars like K1 De Ultimate and Alhaji Wasiu Pasuma.
Career
Kunle began his acting career under Jide Ogungbade, a renowned actor who is now deceased and who served as Kunle Afod’s mentor. Kunle was also trained by Ben Tomoloju and Jahman Anikulapo. They are two well-known figures in the field. At the Awada Kerikeri Theatre Group, he joined Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello. Kunle Afod has appeared in a good number of well-known films, including “Nkan Agba,” “Odi Ade,” and “Ofin Kokanla,” among others.
His career as a movie director has also been a successful one. He directed a popular movie titled “Ori Eiye,” which featured Kiitan Bukola.
Personal Life
Desola Afod is the wife of Kunle Afod. Four sons are a gift from his union with Desola. However, Angel Oyinkansola Afod is a daughter that Kunle has outside of his union with Desola. Every December 30th, he commemorates Angel’s birthday. Kunle Afod’s siblings are Lanre Afod, Olayiwola Afod, and Adenike Afod.
