Early Life and Education
Samuel Adeyemi was born in a small village called Ndayoko, close to Mokwa, Niger State, Nigeria where he spent the first 10 years of his life. He hails from Odo-Ere, Yagba, Kogi state. Samuel Adesanya Adeyemi got his Higher National Diploma (HND) from the prestigious Kwara State Polytechnic where he studied Civil Engineering. In 2008, he obtained his MSc in Leadership from the University of Exeter and a Ph.D. in Strategic Leadership from Regent University.
Career
Sam Adeyemi was a pastor with his brother Victor Adeyemi, he had some struggles that led him and his wife to fast and pray. The Pastor claims that in July 1994 he received a great vision. He was told things that resulted in the creation of the Daystar Christian Center and Success Power International Ministry. Sam also says that he could not have done it without his wife. A year later, on November 18, 1995, the married couple created the Daystar Christian Centre at the Eko Chinese hotel on Allen Avenue, Ikeja Lagos.
In the beginning, it was hard to hold the church together. Sam was not able to pay the rent, and he had problems with the manager of the leased space. The pastor had to pay him from the church offerings. But fortunately, it is in the past. Now Sam Adeyemi’s messages touch the hearts of numerous people.
Personal Life
He is happily married to Pastor Adenike Adeyemi[, an architect by training, who he met while he was a pastor at Rhema church. They have three children, Sophie, David, and Toluwani. He founded the Daystar Leadership Academy in January 2002. It is a non-profit Leadership and Management Development School with the vision to raise exceptional leaders and managers that would transform the world. He also founded Pneuma Publishing which was registered as an information resource center in 1995. Today, the company has grown into a publishing house, information resources management, and distribution organization.
Controversy
He is a popular preacher who tells his audience to always have a plan B as an escape route from the misdemeanor in Nigeria. He was sued to court with other top Nigerian celebrities for supporting the youths that took part in the #EndSARS protest and it was said to be one of the reasons why he relocated with his family to the USA.
