Early Life and Education
Titilope Kuti was born on July 30th, 1980 in Lagos and raised in Surulere and Lagos Island. He had his primary and secondary school education in Lagos State, Nigeria before moving to a tertiary institution. He earned a B.Sc. in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from Lagos State University.
Career
Kuti started making waves while he was still an undergraduate. He made his first appearance as a model in 2005 when he was chosen to appear on billboards for Conoil and MTN Nigeria. He soon appeared on the runway for Benson & Hedges and the St. Moritz style awards. Before entering the media business, Kuti started working for Nigezie, where he picked up production and media skills from the VMN team and managing director of Virtual Media Network, Femi Aderibigbe.
Kuti worked for the channel’s communications department as a presenter, producer, and resource for Nigezie TV. He started hosting The Top Ten Countdown Show on Nigezie Xtreme (formerly Nigezie TV), a music countdown show, in 2009. He then worked as its producer. He shot Emerald, his debut TV series, in 2010. He made his movie comeback in 2021 with a key role in the Netflix Original Series King of Boys: The Return of the King by Kemi Adetiba, which also starred Sola Sobowale. After appearing in a minor role as Ade Tiger in the Netflix Original King of Boys in 2018. He provided coverage for volume 1 of issue 43 of The Will Downtown Magazine on December 7, 2021. The reality TV show Stakers Championship introduced Kuti in January 2022 as one of its co-hosts, alongside Uti Nwachukwu and Liquorose.
His production credits include Glo Naija Sings, Nigerian Idol, Nigeria’s Got Talent (seasons 1 and 2), Football Legends Nigeria, and the reality show Tecno Own The Stage. Kuti changed his career from modelling to producing movies. From 2016 to 2018, he produced the three seasons of the M-Net television series Hustle for Africa Magic. In 2018, he joined Smart Media Production as an associate producer for the reality series Looking for Love Naija.
Personal Life
Titi keeps his personal life private and away from the reach of the media and the public. He, however, noted in an interview that he is not Fela Kuti’s hidden son, but his father is a brother to Fea Kuti, with the name Tunde Kuti.
