Early Life and Education
Rosemary Wahu Kagwi, also known as Wahu, was born on March 22nd, 1980 in Nairobi, Kenya. She went to Hospital Hill Primary School and Precious Blood High School for secondary school education. Wahu finished at the University of Nairobi, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and communication.
Wahu started her musical career at a young age when she wrote a song with her friend, Showers of Blessing, to celebrate the good performance of their high school. The song remains the school’s anthem to date.
In 2000, she released her first single, “Niangalie”. The song was widely accepted all over Africa, and this gave her the green light to enter the industry, most especially the Kenyan music industry.

Wahu has collaborated with many Kenyan and African artists, like Kleptomaniacs, Fally Ipupa, Nonini, Nameless, Wyre, Qqu, and P-Unit. She appeared in the television series Tazama in a leading role.
In 2017, she released a new gospel song, “Sifa“. In 2013, she launched her own salon business, the Afrosiri salon, which offers services like spa, hair, manicure, and pedicure services.
