Early Life
Rita Chikwelu was born on the 6th of March, 1988, in Asabe, Delta State, which falls among the states in the Southern part of Nigeria.
Career
Professional Career
Chikwelu represented FC United in Finland from 2006 to 2009. With 22 goals, she led the Finnish women’s league Naisten Liiga in scoring in 2009.
Chikwelu played with Ume IK for seven seasons between 2010 and 2016, but he left after the team was demoted and signed a two-year deal with Kristianstads DFF.
International Career
From 2004 to 2008, Chikwelu competed in the FIFA U-20 World Cup. In 2007, she made her senior national team debut at the FIFA Women’s World Cup. She was a member of both the Nigerian team that competed in the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the Nigerian Olympic team that competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics in China.
