Gladys Chepkirui Ngetich (born 27 March 1991) is a Kenyan engineer that specializes in aerospace engineering also a Rhodes scholar. She is an award-winning of Tanenbaum Fellowship and the Babaroa Excellence Award.

Early Life and Education
Gladys Ngetic was born on March 27, 1991, in Amalo Village, Kenya, into a family of nine. She went to Lelaibei Primary School in Olenguruone and then to Mercy Girls’ Secondary School for her secondary school education. Gladys gained admission to Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, in 2013.
In 2015, she received a Rhodes Scholarship to study for a Ph.D. in Engineering Science (Aerospace) at the University of Oxford.
Career
Gladys started working in close collaboration with Rolls Royce Plc in 2018. She also lectures undergraduate engineering students at Oriel College. All her research work has been documented on BBC Science and the Oxford Science Blog and Medium.
She is also the co-founder of the ILUU, a non-profit foundation based in Nairobi, the foundation aims to inspire girls and women.
Recognition and Award
Gladys received the Tanenbaum Fellowship award in 2016. It is an annual fellowship awarded to Rhodes scholars for a multifaceted program in Israel.
In 2018, she was credited as a Skoll World Forum Fellow for her impact in Kenya on empowering girls and women.
She received the Young Engineer Turbo Expo Participation Award from the ASME IGTI at the 2018 Annual American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Conference.
In September 2018, Gladys Ngetic was ranked among the Top 40 Under 40 Women in Kenya by Business Daily Africa.
In 2019 she started investigating sustainable space science using a Schmidt Science Fellowship.
