Early Life
Thank God Omori Jesam was from Cross-River State in Nigeria but grew up in Agungi, Lagos State, Nigeria from a middle-class background. He started directing at 15, while overseeing stage plays in his school and church. Omori became a professional after graduating from the Pencil Film Institute at the age of 18, making him the youngest professional filmmaker in Nigeria at the time.
Career
TG Omori is a lover of acting, and his strong feeling for acting made him be thinking of a solid idea. He ventured into acting as a teenager but after several attempts to get into the Nigerian film industry as a young actor went in vain. He started learning Cinematographer and Editing from youtube and he usually hires cameras to demonstrate and practice what he learned.
Another thing to note is that TG Omori was a rapper back then with his friends, He edit videos for his friends and also made viral videos for his associate.
From being a rapper and editing rap music for his friends, TG Omori got an offers to direct general finances films
TG Omori’s first professional-directed video was “Respect a woman” with the help of ES PLUS in 2016. This gave him awareness and served as a milestone for him.
He continues to perfect himself to be a better music video director in Nigeria. He shot ycee “My side” video in 2018 and In May 2019, He gained more awareness after shooting one of the most controversial songs in Nigeria at that time “AM I A Yahoo Boy” by Naira Marley. He became one of the most popular and expensive music video directors.
TG Omori was responsible for around half of the videos on the summer 2019 charts. Countdown on MTV, Soundcity, and Trace. Soapy by Naira Marley won him viewers’ Choice at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival
Since the beginning of TG Omori’s career as a professional video director, he has worked with several popular artists in Nigeria including Wizkid, Olamide, Naira Marley, Tiwa Savage, Timaya, Zlatan and many others.
2022 has been another blessing year for TG OMORI has been gaining more visibility than ever before, He has directed many 2022 music videos such as Terminator by Asake, Bandana by Fireboy featuring Asake, Electricity by Pheelz featuring Davido, Buga by kizz daniel featuring Tekno and several others.
With the amazing and incredible quality music video shot by TG Omori, Social media has been buzzing with people drawing comparisons between TG Omori and a legendary Clarence Abiodun Peters Popularly known as Clarence Peters. Since Clarence had been there for years while he only blow two years ago, he claimed in his response to the discussion that he is not worthy of comparison, but he concluded by saying that “Being compared to Clarence Peter is a win.”
